Mind The Gap Article
In this article Carver talks about the internet being a tool we use to access information and knowledge. It is our privilege to have access to the whole world like we do and some may take it for granite because there are plenty of people out there who do not have access to the internet. There are so many people out there who have an upper hand because they have access to knowledge that can be very beneficial to everyone but not everyone can get it. Carver talks about how most people have this access but do not have the proper training to be computer literate. I think if more people had a better knowledge of how to navigate the internet and use technology then we would not have as much of a divide.

Cyborg Manifesto
In this article Haraway focuses a lot of her argument on the characteristics of a cyborg in a scientific culture and how masculinity is more present. A lot of the article talks about how some of the characteristics if not most are very masculine rather than feminist. She is trying to give a female perspective on the subject. Her manifesto for contemporary conversations on gender and digital media is related in this article to other articles we have already gone over such as the video game article and the Chicano article. She is trying to support a social feminist movement by pointing out the stereotype women are still being put in today through our scientific culture. I think throughout the past women have come a long way but I don't think it is perfect yet because there are still very ignerant men that view women as weaker and that is very sad.

Chicano Article
To me this article talks more about this idea of a "digital divide". They are pretty much saying that the Chicana people don't have as much of a need fore the internet as Americans. Gomez talks about how the divide is not just from a lack of internet access of these people but a lesser disire for it. There are plenty who use the internet on a daily bases and those who do not. I think a lot of them don't have much of a disire for the internet and that's why they don't use it.
I also don't totally agree that compairing Chicano people with American people is a very good idea because we have way too many cultural differences. I thought a really interesting point made was that when Guillermo was growing up in Mexico, technology was more important to have rather than to use. This seemed very strange to me but very interesting because that is almost saying that owning the latest technology or gadgets puts you in a certain class regardless of if you use them or not.

Where Do You Want to Go Today?
Where do you want to go today? is Microsoft's slogan that is basically telling the consumer that they have access to "a world without limits". In other words they have access to a limitless cyber world where they can travel to wherever they are interested. We are all linked to a certain cyberculture which helps us to learn about whats going on in the world at the click of a mouse. William Gibson described cyberspace as "...A consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions...a graphic representation of data abstracted from the banks of every computer in the human system". The internet is our cyberspace and a very large part of our culture today.
This article talks a lot about using advertisement on the internet to make us all feel like a tourist at any location of the world they want to go to. In many ways this can be a good thing, however sometimes an image on the internet can serve as a visual marker using race and can not really be what you think you are seeing. This form of online tourism makes us believe that everything we see is real when in actuality it can be changed in photoshop to portray an image they want us to see. An example of this is in "Where do you want to go today?" with the image of the Arab on his camel, with the pyramids in the background.
